10 comments
Guys Today We Will see How to Change Your Processor Name PERMANENTLY.

The Word “Permanently” is In Capital Words Because you might know the trick To Change The Name of Your Processor Temperarily. Which Reverts back to Original Name When You Restart Your Computer, But today I will Show you How to Change it Peramanently.

To Change the name  Permanently is Easy You Just have to Create a Registry key, Make a Shortcut Of it and Place it in Start-up Folder.

Follow The Below Easy Steps:

Step 1: Open Notepad and Paste the Below Code.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System\CentralProcessor\0]
“ProcessorNameString”=”Your Processor Name 50000MHz”

Note : Change “Your Processor Name” To Whatever name You Want it To Give. For Eg: I'm giving Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU M 920 @ 2.67GHz
Also Understand That \0 Should Be Present If Windows Stores your Processor name at that location. I recommend you better open Register edit by typing “Regedit” in Run Command and Navigate To above keys To Confirm It is Present.
Step 2: After You Copy Paste The Above Code in notepad and Give the name of your choice to the processor, Its time to save it. Save it as with any name but with the Extension .reg For eg : Intel_Core_i3.reg  Also Make sure you Choose “All Types” in Save as Type.
Step 3: Now its time to Create A Shortcut To This File. Right click on Desktop Then New > Shortcut

Now in the location of the item, Type  regedit / S “Location of yourprocessorname.reg file”

For Eg : if your Saved File is in ” D ” Drive Then Type regedit /S “D:\Intel_Core_i3.reg”

Step 4: Name it any, For Eg : I'm giving "Processor Name"

Step 5: Now Its to Time To Place The Created Shortcut in Startup Folder. Copy The shortcut and Navigate to Startup folder and paste it.

For Xp Users > C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

For 7/8 Users > C:\Users\ User-Name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
Note: AppData is a hidden folder so unhidden it first By clicking on Folder option> View and Check Show Hidden Files/Folders and Drives.
That's it now this Registry File Will Execute on Every Start-up and The Processor name Will not Be Reverted Back.

Enjoy with Your New Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU  M 920  @ 2.67 GHz ;) :D

How to Create a Password Protected Folder without any Software

1 comments

There are a lot of methods that you can use to create a password protected folder, most of which require the use of some third party software. Using this neat method you can hide your folders with a quick batch script.
Create Your Password Protected Folder Step By Step Here:
Before you get started you need to create a folder that will house your password protected folder, this is just an ordinary folder and can be located anywhere and named anything.

Navigate into your newly created folder and create a new Text Document. This can easily be done from the context menu.

Open the document; now paste the following code into the opened document:
    cls
    @ECHO OFF
    title Folder Private
    if EXIST "HTG Locker" goto UNLOCK
    if NOT EXIST Private goto MDLOCKER
    :CONFIRM
    echo Are you sure you want to lock the folder(Y/N)
    set/p "cho=>"
    if %cho%==Y goto LOCK
    if %cho%==y goto LOCK
    if %cho%==n goto END
    if %cho%==N goto END
    echo Invalid choice.
    goto CONFIRM
    :LOCK
    ren Private "HTG Locker"
    attrib +h +s "HTG Locker"
    echo Folder locked
    goto End
    :UNLOCK
    echo Enter password to unlock folder
    set/p "pass=>"
    if NOT %pass%== PASSWORD_GOES_HERE goto FAIL
    attrib -h -s "HTG Locker"
    ren "HTG Locker" Private
    echo Folder Unlocked successfully
    goto End
    :FAIL
    echo Invalid password
    goto end
    :MDLOCKER
    md Private
    echo Private created successfully
    goto End
    :End

Change the PASSWORD_GOES_HERE text to the password you want to set. Now go ahead and save the file save as locker.bat

Once the file is saved as a batch file you can delete the original text file.

Now run your batch file by double clicking on it–the first time you run it, it will create a folder called Private. This is where you can store all your secret things. When you have finished adding all your stuff to the Private folder, run locker.bat again.

This time you will be asked if you sure that you want to lock the folder, press the “Y” key and hit enter to lock your folder.
You will see that your Private folder quickly disappears.

If you run the script yet again, you will prompt for a password.

If you enter the same password as you set in the script the Private folder will reappear if you enter the incorrect password the script will just Terminate.

Warning: Most people don’t know how to show system files, but anybody who has some experience will probably be able to quickly figure it out in the Folder Options. The second way someone could comprise the folder is to open the batch file and read your password. It’s definitely not a really secure way to hide your files, but it is fun.

Attribution note: I found this script on dozens of different web sites. I have no idea who first created the script, so we’ve omitted any sort of attribution link. If you do have proof that you first created the script, contact us and we’ll adjust the article accordingly.
